Also bud, does the wastegate pipe run teh same side of the steering UJ as the downpipe or does it run beween the steering UJ and the inner wing?
Looks like it sits quite far over thats all.

No Mate, i don't sorry.
Its a a crude diagram (i'm pants at photoshop) but you'll get the idea.
The steering arm travels through the middle of it all.
basically I drop the engine in the car with the manifold, up pipe and turbo assembled. Then I assemble the down pipe and wastegate around the steering UJ. One precaution I did take was th wrap the power seering lines with some special heat reflective wrap.

Im making new PAS lines mate. Gonna run braided lines with AN fittings.
Also gonna be making a heat shield to cover that side of the engine area.

Daz's pics are with a screamer pipe, if your making your own system I would vent it back into the downpipe as it gets really loud on boost

That's not a screamer pipe Steve. Look again!!
The wastegate vents back into the Down pipe.

I dont want a screamer either, although it would be easier to make with one.

Turbo is a garrett GT3076R with a 0.82 exhaust housing. Good for around 520bhp
Cost wise I got everything from here:
