Default Clonk/click on slow breaking?

Hi, just wondered if anyone could shed some light on a clonk/click i get on slow breaking from the front. It only does it once when the break is applied. It sounds like it's from the wheel area,i've fitted new 4 pots, alk, and running spacers, all done in the last month. I've had the car on ramps and checked every bolt/nut i could get a spanner on,but all tight!
Any ideas?

Thanks,Mit

Are the brake pad springs that go on top of the pads to stop them rattling there?

Hi, yes they are. Does it matter which way they go? I.e,the curved part at the top or bottom.

Iirc, the curved bit goes at the bottom, not sure if it matters.

Thanks,i've just tried swoping them round, but no difference. It's quite a loud click, and only does it when using the front breaks,as slowing with the hand break makes no noise.

its the brake pads that dont fit quite as good as they should, ive had the same noise ever since a fitted some carbonne lorraine pads to my car.must be the holes in the pad where the pin slides through thats a little on the large side so when you brake the pad moves slightly.

I have noticed the pads do move a bit when you wiggle them. There standard cheap Halfors jobbies that were fitted when i bought them, was going to change them anyway,so not all bad!

Thanks
