Default Fuelling query

Judinging by this fuelling map would you say the car is running rich and could be leaned out slightly?

I'd say it is running a bit rich, moreso on spoolup and as the revs are climbing, redline doesn't look too bad (best to be safe than sorry)

Any mappers agree with the above?

not everyone will totaly agree on fuelling figures (trade off between power and safety)

but the more replies you can get the better idea you will have of where you want it at.

...on my evo I aim for 12.5 on spool, 11.5-11.7 as revs climb, tapering to 11-11.1 at redline.

On your car Banny iirc my wideband read leaner than the one on the dyno and therefore that print out.. Charlie said that sensor was pretty cooked from race fuel mapping a couple of days previous.. so I went with my own that I trust.
therefore I don't think that is a true indication on the fuelling it is running, it will also run slightly leaner on the road than on the dyno.

Hi fellas, sorry for the hijack !

But is there a way of adding an AFR sensor, and feeding the signal thru' to the standard ecu and a gauge ?

And where's the methanol locally ?

LOL

Thanks for the reply Simon, it just seems a little heavy on fuel on cruise compared to before, that is my main reason for asking.

You get a wideband lamba fitted to the downpipe and have a digital readout like mappers do but not sure about connecting it to the ecu.

In regards to the methanol there is no where local to get it but order it from Jennychem and it is here the next day usually, that is where I get mine from.

you need to check/log afr at cruise!

the graph you have posted is a power run and not connected to how the car will fuel at cruise.

if Simon mapped it then I'm sure he can tell you if the map has closed loop or not and what it is fuelling at whilst cruising.

------

Dunx

you fit a wideband lambda for the gauge.

no point in running it through the ecu as the standard lambda usually does a fine job at keeping stoich.

11.3AFR on a car I mapped on the road read 10.8AFR at Charlies (SRR) the other week.

Rolling road will always read a little richer due to the different airflow.

As mentioned above the cruise fueling should be set to closed loop which is not reflected by the above graph. At cruise you should be running around 14.7AFR (15.2 apparently is best economy but not best emissions).

Found the cause of it being a bit on the heavy side, the lambda sensor has taken its toys and gone home!

Switched it off from the commander and instant improvement on consumption, just need to replace it now.
