Default wrx 2001

wen driven my wrx i feel like im not geting the right power..sum times it feels fine sum times just doesn feel right..is ther any thing i cud do check or clean tht wud make it run a little better..any suggestions ppl..unless its just me lol..any help wud be appreciated thanks

I see that you have an aftermarket exhaust fitted but list modifications as 'none'. I can only guess that you haven't had a remap and I would suspect that you are in need of one as the post my01 ecu's are 'smart' and can detect changes in engine power output. With a new exhaust on your ecu might have gone into protection mode to prevent damage to your engine.

I would recommend a remap, pref. Ecutek. This should make a big and immediate difference. If you find that the power output is still inconsistent after the remap I'd recommend a compression test to check the condition of your cylinders.

You could check/clean the air filter as a starter but if the filter was filthy you'd have consistently lower power.
