In preperation for a remap (when my numbers come up
) I am looking at an electronic boost controller and I'm trying to fathom out which will be best.
The three I have been looking at are the Greddy Profec B, Blitz SBD Spec R and the APEXi AVC-R.
At present I just want to sort out the fluctuations where the standard 2-port cannot handle the speed that the standard turbo spools up because of the bigger exhaust and partial decat combo. In addition I've got a GGR induction kit and larger TMIC to fit prior to the remap.
Longer term, I'm looking at either an Andy Forrest TD04 hybrid or a VF34 and I don't want to have to replace the boost controller when I do that.
Any advice and recommendations would be appreciated.
Cheers

GReddy Profec B Spec II fitted to mine.
Does the job, but I'm fecked if I can work it out. AVCR would be my choice if buying now.

I had the blitz sbd spec R on mine which wasnt that good at holding boost at high levels. Its still on the car but only as a boost gauge where as I have an avcr to control my boost
I have to admit scoobyclinic fitted a manual boost controller to my car and it performed better than the AVCR

Hi All
At the moment I have a Greddy Profec fitted to my bugeye which was on when I purchased the car. Haven’t messed with the settings and leave it low boost most of the time, as it’s a bit fiddly to reach over and switch to high boost when driving. But I fancy getting the remote switch unit for this which mounts to the steering wheel, so I can switch boost levels a bit easier.
On the other hand a quite like the features of the AVCR, three preset boost levels, in gear boost setting and scramble modes, plus I already have the SAFC and RSM fitted so would have the full set then.
Another one to look at would be the two Gizzmo units both seem to be pretty good units and the higher spec drag model can have six boost presets if I remember rightly.
No much help really I know but maybe somthing to consider.

Avc r all the way guys and your looking at £300 fitted.
Your mapper should not charge you anymore to set it when he is mapping your car, will give him a lot more control over boost and much better read out of what boost your holding what your need to know for the mapping session.
