Fuel cut!
This has probably been asked numerous amount of times before, but after a quick flick thought I would ask again
I feel I may have fuel cut on my classic wrx. I can't nail the accelerator without it stuttering This may not be fuel cut but seems to be the most sensible problem atm.
How can I get rid of this problem? As many ideas as possible please.
The car is chipped with an ecu that came from another wrx already chipped (bought from here) but nothing else has been done apart from the exhaust and filter (what the chip is set up for). The car was rolling roaded at 252bhp before the ecu was changed.
Any help would be really helpfull.

I've been trawling thro looking for help.
this is also my 1st post.
I've always found the answers on other posts,
I have a similar prob, with my classic..had a another engine fitted after I shot a big end and took it easy for a while, 500 mile, gave it a boot full and.... it was like hitting a brick wall. Thought I was over boosting, but fitted a calibrated 1 bar full scale guage and all I'm actually getting is about 0.4 bar and it's cutting out
the rev guage also cuts out. I thought that it was the fuel cutting out????
could it be the coil packs???
how do I check??

I know coil packs can be a problem but I thought I would look at the fuel root first. If it is fuel, what's the most cost effective way to sort it out?

Hi mate if your hitting the fuel cut then the car is overboosting, check all your vacum pipes on your boost controller to see if there split or disconnected. check is to see if the bottom vac hose off the boost controller that goes to the air intake isn't disconnected. If its stuttering while accelerating then its most likely coil packs or plugs, take out the coil packs and pull the rubber covers back off the ends and check for small cracks. While your there check the plugs too and the gaps they should be bout 0.6 iirc.

I know exactly what your problem is, its those NEONS you have in the boot lol
Check all pipes,i mean closely check em, as they may have a tiny hole which can cause this!
Also recommend a plug change and gap them correctly. fiddly to do but worth it. If you get stuck give us a yell, you know where I am. I am free from friday onwards, but have to fit a new rad to the green one...tut!

Thanks for the points on what it could be and I will be checking the hoses etc tomorrow
Plugs were changed last year and packs were checked and they were ok then, but that don't mean to say that they are still ok now
