Angry Problem starting

I have a 95 wrx, and am having touble starting. It seams to be if i do a short run, of around a couple of miles. It takes around 10mins, then it will start and run perfect all day. i can hear the fuel pump, got main ignition and starter. Some one suggested the crank sensor, any ideas how i can check the output of this? cheers

try checking the ecu by connecting the 2 black connectors under the steering column and reading the code displayed by the CEL flashing

Sounds like you have classic symptoms of a sensor failing. The heat of the engine running causes the sensor a problem. Crank or cam sensor.

My MY95 crank sensor failed gradually over time, and was the same as you describe. Up the road 1 mile to the petrol station, took ages to start (and I had to increase cranking times on the Apexi PFC). Started 1st time every time from cold.

Then one day wouldn't start at all.

If you take the sensor out when cold and use a meter on it to measure impedance it might show a high reading which means it's duff. Mine did anyway.
