you will need to make sure the steel pipes come with the td05 as the td04's will not fit.
nothing else springs to mind as being a problem except getting the oil drain pipe back on when fitting turbo,it can be a pain in the @rse.

it will need a remap after.
best off doing some other supporting mods to get best out of the td05,for example.
decat uppipe, full decat on downpipe and centre or fit 1 sport cat.
standard injectors are 380cc so adviseable to get some sti pinks fitted that are 550cc
sti8 top mount intercooler as the wrx will be maxing out and finally a decent panel filter i.e k&n or green
obviously this is depending on what sort of power you want to achieve.

not sure on power would guess around the 300bhp mark best to ask a mapper to see what they think.

Have you considered just doing a remap and staying with your current turbo? You'll see a big increase in power just from that. You would want to change turbos after your current turbo stops being adequate for your power needs.
I recently made a change from a TD05 16g to a tiny VF11. The reason I'm happy with the change is that the boost threshold is so low now. I don't have to drop down a gear anymore to get boost. For a road car drivability is improved by having your power down low.
You might want to find someone running a TD05 so that you can compare the characteristics of the turbos before you decide.

yeah you've told a load of rusbbish about the ecu being unmappable.
bug eyes can be mapped.
personally i'd go for eitehr a vf35 or a vf34, they will be direct fits so no worries in that sence.
550 injectors
walbrough 255 fuelpump
pannel filter, or cold air induction kit
full decat
remap
