engine wont rev higher than 4500
Hi all just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with the car not going above 4500 RPM. I own a 1996 import WRX and this problem has just started.
As i drive it when it hits 4500 it jerks like i have just re engaged the clutch.
Any advise would be much appreciated

Sounds like limp home mode.
Is the Engine check light on?
Mine did this when my speedo wasnt working.
Any other symptoms at all?
But as Tidgy said, you will need to get it looked at.
You can do a ECU test and the Engine check light will flash and give you a fault code.
You can use this to find out the problem.

Limp mode, engine light should be on.
if speedo has also stopped working check the speed delimiter that may of been fitted when imported. Normally a small box wired into the ECU.
The wires may be off or the box has died (quite common)
if speedo is still working connect the 2 black wires under th dash (near steering column) and read out the error codes (flashing or engine warning light).
