Default Knocking from the rear, where do i start??

I am getting a knocking from the rear when i go over bumps etc where is the first place you guys look?

I had one look under there and they are so complicated! i am used to the complete non adjustability of an e30 BMW!

Oh, it is a classic btw

Thanks!

I have the same issue with my Classic on some road surfaces. I had the rear up on axle stands and spent a good few hours looking everything over last weekend - including taking out the boot lining and refitting more securely.

I could not find anything amiss - but then I'm no expert. The only thing I can think is that while I can manually find no movement, there may be movement when the car is moving ?.

Be intersted to see what others think.

On mine - the shocks seem to function OK and with the wheels off on stands, there is no apparent play or movement even when I give them a pulling around enough to rock the car on the stands

What should I be looking for ??
