just a quick question, i have a after market exhaust system which is a bit loud for me if i am honest, also has a 4''+ exit pipe not really my thing either and not to sure of the make as it was fitted when i got it.

i have had the car mapped after a few tweaks but wish i had changed the back box first.

if i was to swap it out for a PPP or H&S or something similar will i notice much difference obviously as long as it is the same diameter pipe will it restrict the gas flow and would i really need it mapped again

any advice would be great

i'd say you would get away with changing the back box without remapping.depends on what you call loud but i found the tsl group n box a good compromise which did'nt do my car any harm when it was mapped.

 

A less restrictive back box will aid the spool up of the turbo, give better fuel consumption, and sound nicer... most after-market items will flow about the same, i.e lots better than standard.

P.S. TSL Group N on mine now after three years with their Firestorm (V.noisy)

 

any chance of a sound clip of the TSL Grp N i had a firestorm on my old p1 and removed it as soon as i found a p1 upgraded backbox

so as lomg as i go down the after market route i should be ok but just stay clear of teh standard and ppp boxes?

any idea how loud the h & s systems are just seen a couple on ebay
