Question Please help, Spluttering and engine light

Hi there, I have this reccouring problem which today has just got unbearably bad

basically I can be tottling along at say 30 mph when the car will splutter and die or sometimes spluter and pick up again.cel light has come on but not everytime.

But now its doing it all the time, If i have the throttle say half down, 3/4 down or any postition but flat to the deck then it will do it, Once I touch the deck with the throttle it picks up and takes off as normal.

Ive taken it to a diagnosis place and they read it as a knock sensor, I have replaced this and its still happening.

Im thinking MAF? some one said throttle position sensor?

Has anyone had any similar problems?

Thanks alot in advance, Dan.

Mine has been doing the same but not spluttering.

Then today it woudnt start, turns out to be fuel pump.

If yours is a calssic, take the rear bench out and there is somewireing on the passenger side that can melt, like a big connection block.

Its a 2002 bugeye

Ive serivced it today, new oil, filter, plugs, air filter, fuel filter. Did nothing

Took it for another diagnostics check, 3 faults Knock sensor, Throttle position sensor, O2 sensor.

Ive played about with the throttle sensor and that sempt to fix for a short while, Replacement throttle sensor going on tomorrow to see if that cures anything If not its time to do the job lot
