Default 1.4bar on MY07 2.5 WRX

my psi3 monitor saw boost peak at 1.4bar the other day, it has been recently remapped by a well known company, car is standard apart from complete decat, green filter, and air intake resonator delete, awesome performace, but at what cost? what would be a safe boost limit for the 2.5 wrx, and would a boost controller be the best option to prevent these overboosts (4th 5th gear) it runs normally at 1.2bar........

'It has been recently remapped by a well known company' then the boost should be set at a safe level and will not overboost It would go back to the 'well known company' if it were mine

Does it actually hit fuel cut??

Most road cars reach maximum boost across the middle of the rev. range, then the boost tails of towards maximum rpm.
Are you noticing the effects of the recent cold weather ?
Simply call the mapper and ask what he regards as a safe maximum.

it's hard to tell really, i think it would be the middle of the rev range in 4th or fifth gear as i rarely redline now as the torque is so strong low down, also the psi3 is pretty useless as a boost gauge as are most digital displays, so it may be a fraction of a sec that it is perhaps spiking, but the psi3 records maximum boost attained, i do think the weather has made it boost higher, as the usual maximum i get is 1.32bar, i think a decent boost gauge is required alongside the psi3 so i can get a better idea of whats happening. thanks.
