03 WRX, CEL on, and what size are the bloody wipers? - UPDATED
Ok oh wise ones
Firstly, my CEL came on today whilst i was sat in a 3 mile car park called the M6 this afternoon. What's that all about?
Car drives normally, etc, etc.
Secondly, what bloody size are the 03 WRX wipers?
Is it 22" and 16"?
CEL turned out to be my EGT sensor u/s. I cannot believe this was still left in there when the new ceramic headers were fitted and ceramic coated up pipe. I am being told this sensor should have been removed and the hole bunged up. I was also told that had the EGT sensor broken off it could have gone into my nice expensive turbo and fubared that up?
Does anyone know if this is the case or i am being BS'd again!
It cost me a bloody small fortune to get this put right, in what should have been done when i had all the bloody mods done to start with.
I never realised it was gonna cost me £30 just to have the f'ing CEL code read and looked at! LOLz0rs.
They saw me coming i think.

It would have been sensible to have the EGT removed and the hole bolted over. A 2.2k ohm resistor in the connector block by the offside turret should rid you of the CEL.
Why the WRX persists with an EGT sensor when the STi doesn't never made sense to me !!

Thanks Shaun, this is what i was told. I have now also had the resistor fitted too to rid me of the CEL.
I am just so annoyed that if the EGT sensor had broken off, what damage that could have done to my turbo. I do not understand why it got left in, in the first place. It aint needed, you get the car mapped anyway after mods, it was a new up pipe so the easiest way was to bung the f*cka to start with!
I am surprised by this.

It's all a game really LOL Ninnybobs runs his bugeye at circa 400 BHP with the EGT sensor still in place !!
It's a shame that it's currently impossible to map this CEL out
I was going to go for ceramic coated headers and up-pipe but the Cost made my nose bleed !! Who did the work ?
