New member doing research, Please help!!!
I'm in the process of selling my Astra Coupe turbo so that i can buy an Impreza Turbo, Yay!!!!!!!
But i need help..............there are so many different types on the market and i don't know how to tell them all apart. Can anyone recommend any web sites that has info. about all the makes and models and bhp and spec etc.
Or if anyone can recommend a model for me, i'd really like a facelift model with the later dash etc, and want something thats around 240bhp+, doesn't matter if its an import or uk model, i got some quotes on-line and i can insure an import classic for about a grand, i'm 24 with 3 year NCB, is that about right?
I'll have about £4,000 - £5,000 to spend, any suggestion will be appreciated.
Thanks people

Your budget means you're most likely to go for a classic (1993 to 2000). Here is all the info you'll need

If you're 24, I suggest getting a standard UK MY99 or MY00. These are the last of the classics. You should be able to get a decent one for your price range. If you went for an import it would likely be a shed for that money. Being UK cars they'll normally attract less insurance. Also, they're really bullet proof compared to the imports as they run less power. Still 230+ bhp though.
Looking on Pistonheads - these are the ones I'd investigate further

There was a non STi import which had virtually the same power ie 276bhp and the usual import extras. It was called the WRX. My one was a MY99 and I had it for 8 years. It was a brilliant and very fast car - I still miss it a little.
