Default De-restricting my 112mph Scooby

Hi, Can anyone help me please?

I've just bought an L Reg WRX Turbo which is restricted to 112mph and i was wondering if anyone knew how to de-restrict it? Its an Import and drives great but it feels like a kick in the teeth knowing that my poor car is being held back.

If anyone can help with this i would be very grateful as i've asked everyone i know and so far nobody can help me.

Cheers

there are 2 ways to do it. get a speedo converter, to change your speedo from reading kph to read mph. you will also need a new clock face for this.
costs about £65 plus the clock is around £20.

The other way is to get it remapped, or just ask a remapping centre if they can quickly plug it in and take off the restrictor. after you hit 112mph you wont have a clue how fast your going though.

My 95RA has the cable speedo,so fitted a converter in line with the cable. The de-limit is easy, fit a chip to the ecu, about £125,which not only de-limits,but makes it safer to run on UK fuel, and up's boost to 16psi.

Mechanical converter plus a sticker over the kmh that says mph .

You don't need a chip to delimit the car as if you get this converter for example Import Solutions it will derestrict your car.

I had the same problem with my MY99. At first I was going to get it delimited but after a while I got used to driving in KPH and though how often will I go over 112MPH so Ive not bothered with it. Yes my work mates take the **** that there Astra can go higher then 112MPH but I don't care, at the end of the day I know who's got the better car?

112mph is not a bad top end for a classic any faster it'll shake to bits

Thats True ScubaSteve but its just going to be nice to know that my car has the speed if i need it i'll only ever take it over that in my time of need and when it comes to selling time to get my prodrive - (Thats what i want next in a year or two) then whoever buys it will know that they dont have to spend any money de-restricting it
