I meant on the same year, ie, a 1999 Turbo saloon and a 1999 turbo wagon will be the same undernearth or 1995 wrx saloon and 1995 wrx wagon will be the same underneath, but a 1999 turbo and a 1995 turbo are different. Turbo's, ecu's, brakes etc..all different

Yep, they still can differ.
Dont know what year what had but there was a spell where Wagons had a TD04 fitted and saloons had TD05's.
Do a search for the maintanance manuals and service guides, they'll give all the info your looking for.

Say a 1995 uk spec saloon,uk spec wagon and then wrx derivatives of the same year will, they be the same performance wise and spec wise....
If not what advantages do the "better" models have over the others.
Thanks.

Wagons have stiffer rear springs, and on newage a narrower front track as well....there are a myriad of differences so to get proper advice you have to be a lot more specific about model and year!

Ok I'm looking @ a '95 WRX wagon, the WRX bit may be subject to change but I'll most prolly get a wagon.
The issue I have is that I don't want to commit and find out the Wrx is blah, blah mph faster, etc ,etc.
Forgive the inane questions, any help appreciated.
I have done some searches but nothing is blatantly obvious...
P.s are there any lemons amongst the scooby line-up...cheers

PM me your email address and I'll email you the workshop manual and you can check the differences yourself if you like.
