what turbo on v.5 type R
looking to buy a v5 type R, has lots of mods and noticed the IHI stamp on the blower. thought it was a vf variant,or is that the same beast. also it has a sti 8 RCM crank with other serious supporting mods, what bhp could i be looking at taking it too. felt rapid on test drive, but not sure if was just group N box making feel that fast.

they are quick in standard trim off the mark and if there are no receipts to back up the internal work then always take it as standard.i know of one poor sod that bought a "recently rebuilt fully forged" 400 bhp typeR that blew up within 3 days and when they opened it up it had wrx pistons and rods not the sti9 crank and forged stuff he was expecting.

also on the v5 the vf28,440cc injectors and fuel pump will limit to 350bhp ish max but the gearbox wont take more than 340ish torque with any welly (altho rossi p's is running near 500 bhp),they are already quite well tuned as standard.

Depends on how there driven... if you take them easy off the start, then go through the gears, they'll stay together abit longer than the old traffic light launch...
The Type R is a awesome car...
