This is my first post on here - so hello to you all.

I have just bought a 1994 import WRX and a strange thing happend to it today. This is my first Scooby so I'm not familier with their workings yet and could could do with some advice.

I'll try and explain...
I was driving along a dual carriage way today and the Engine Check light came on for a few minutes. I came off the carriage way onto a B road then the light went out. At the same time the light went out the car sputtered a bit and then ran fine thereafter.

The water temp gauge reads a little high but the oil temp is fine so could a false reading on the water temp gauge cause this?? I have checked the oil and water levels and there is nothing wrong in that department.
