hi all i hope somone can help...brought my 1st sudaru last week and its now gone in to what im told is safe mode...it not rev above 4500rpm it seemes to drive fine been told it could be the speedo...its an import if that helps and is a K plate,dont know much about cars but will try owt

Does the speedo work,if not then that could be the cause of your problem as it will put the ecu into Limp home mode.

yeah its working.....? is it expensive to sort if its the speedo

 

If the speedo works then that may not be the problem.
Is the Check Engine Light on?

 

no cant see anysorry just been a spin around init andcheck light comes on when i start to move.......................

 

alrite there. Ive got exactly the same problem. ive got a 95 wrx import. i get to 4000rpm in every gear and it limits. wont go any further. The check engine light is on constantly and the speedo does not work! any ideas? what do i do?

 

THE CEL is on the lower right dash below the rev counter it will light up when you put the key in the ignition then go uout once the car is started.

Get the speedo working,it's cable operated so may have been disconnected from the back of the speedo head or from the gearbox.

 

yeah think it may be disconnected from the gearbox. just read the error code page on that link and ill try that tomorrow mate. do you think it will be a big problem?

 

Reconnecting the speedo cable then reseting the ecu (also on the link i've posted) and all should be well.

 

whats a speed sensor2?????
