Default Are faulty cam sensor's harmful to my engine?

My V7 JDM STi's engine light flickers on at high revs but always goes off as soon as the revs drop. Had it put on a laptop by a subaru bloke and apparently I have two dodgy cam sensors.

Are they expensive/hard to replace or deer to buy?

If I don't replace it and ignore it am I likely to get any problems?

Thanks
