hey all, hopefully someone can shed some light ona noise i have,
when travelling about 70/80 mph there is a buzzing noise or rattling that can be heard inside the car,
when i first heard it i checked all my pressures etc, oil press is fine,
i then heard it again and knocked the car into neutral and allowed the engine to idle, still hear the noise, so i know its not engine related, or gearbox, i know it will be tricky to say what it is without hearing it but has anyone else had a similar problem?
could it be the diff? if so i will check the oil in it and top up if necc.
tried to put cardboard under the vents on the bonnet to see if it was them,
the car is a sti4 classic, power fc, prodrive alcon brakes, fuel lab fpr, just interested if anyone has had any similar noises?

not had similar problems myself but it could be one or both of your wheel bearings. they make a sort of whurring noise when they've gone. it might not be them but just another idea for you to investigate

dont think it is a wheel bearing as the noise is apparent whether turning slightly or going in a straight line, wheel bearings usually get louder or quieter with direction?

my wife makes an annoying noise when shes in the car with me....sounds somat like "slow down i dont like it)

but on a serious note checked your exhaust downpipe and exit end??as myn rattles sometimes

side window seals? mine make a wierd old noise sometimes, especially if very windy day, but i have to go a bit faster than 70/80 to get them to do it

Divorce court usually does the trick, the noise goes away but your bank balance & house/kids does too...
