engine misfire on startup

engine misfire on startup
Cousin has an 07 STi which has developed a slight miss fire and puffs black smoke out on start up.
Car has only done 2800 miles.
Took the car back to Monty's in Sheffield, and they say that there is nowt up with it???
Also took it to Gouldens in Huddersfield, who say yes there is a fault but they dont know what it is
Anyone else had a similar experience, or just have any idea what it could be cos its doing his head in.
Any help appreciated

Found out the problem.
Phoned Subaru directly and they say that there is a fault with the 07 sti engines.
Just needs a software update to sort it out!!
So if anyon else has an 07 sti then get to your local dealers to get the update done
