Default can belt be too tight

when tightening belt on alternator pwr steering and crank, is it possible to be too tight.

Yes, if it's too tight you'll knacker the bearings of the alternator/power steering.

Are they stock size pulleys you are fitting? If they are ,.. and your not sure how tight to do them you should notice a mark on the tensioners where they used to be - do them up to there and you can't go wrong ,..

If they are to tight you may not notice straight away but after a while you will get a nasty noice coming from the alternator
