Default annoying idling prob.

ive got a 94 2000 turbo and it wont idle below 1100 revs.sometimes it fluctuates between 1400 down to 1100.ive checked all hoses and connections and sometimes the check light flickers but never when going along.i know its controlled by the maf and ecu so cant be set manually, the cables got slack and the thrott spindles on its stop.is it poss the throttle butterflys a bit clogged so not seating properly.apart from that alls fine.
any ideas would be welcome as its getting annoying.

I've had a similar problem on a car I use to own,it turned out to be air leaking in to the inlet manifold through the throttle body spindle.I changed the seals and that cured the problem. This air leak also showed itself when you was sitting at idle then "blipping" the accelerator. It would take a few seconds for the idle to return to normal !

i thought about a throttle body overhaul perhaps.or even a nice new one from somewhere.sounds like its tb and not a pipe leak.
there are some modded thrott bodys around but havent seen one for sale yet.
