Unhappy cam/crank sensers

am i going mad, i always through that the cam senser is aboth the cams on the left hand side, to which has a sleve.

and the crank senser is slightly smaller (no sleve) and goes just under the alternater ect.

well, this guy who has sold loads on e-bay says im wrong:

Subaru Impreza WRX / STi / Turbo / CRANK Sensor on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 25-Jan-08 10:59:31 GMT)

this to me is a cam senser, he was selling the other senser to. to which he says is a cam senser. but says its the crank....

please say i'm not loosing my mind. and the link shows a cam & not the crank senser

he said i need to go back and lean more

are the imports & uk cars different then

becouse on mine. this link show the cam senser
i got what was said on e-bay was a cam senser. but i had to use it as a crank senser

the wiring i have on my car is from an import too. they both have different plugs too.

i must be going dulally then...

the one with a sleve around to me is the cam senser
& the one with out a sleve is the crank senser

the one in the pick has that sleve?

can anyone tell me if there was a difference between the uk & imports?

Don't worry, It's not YOU that needs to go back and learn more It's the E-Bay seller!!!!

YOUR description of the sensors is spot on!!

I can confirm that the Sensor in the Picci is definately a Camshaft Sensor.

This particular sensor was fitted to all Uk versions of the 1.6, 1.8 & 2.0 Engines between May 1993 & March 2002.

It was also fitted to all Import Engines from 1996 to 2002

Imports built before this Model year had Crank & Cam Sensors fitted that had a wiring harness that was part of the sensor, which in turn then plugged in under the inlet manifold.
