Default Z32 OR Q45??

My Uk 97 is at its max peaking at 5.1v

After scouring ebay for a possible replacement i came across plenty of Z32 maf's and a couple of Q45's

So which one would be a better replacement?

Whats the difference between the two?

What car is the Q45 originaly from?

easiest upgrade is a jdm 97/98 maf as larger diameter than the uk..

the z32 fits 93~96 easy, q45 fits 99 easy.

thinking about it the housing diameter must be the same so should swap except for wiring directly as Andy says.. just jdm plugs straight in

So just to clarify,

Z32 is the same size(80mm) but will need wiring changes.

A Jdm MAF from a WRX saloon would also give me some scope for more airflow with no wiring changes.

I take it either would need rescaling.

yes you would need a remap for either.

the JDM one will require a change in hose diameter from the inlet pipe to maf also.. just get it with the maf.

As you told me before Simon, you can use the Q45 MAF instead of the lumpy MY99/00 MAF, but would have to tell this to the Power FC, did I understand this correct?!
