Default code 45 limp mode.

Hi, a mate of mine with the same car (wrx my94) has the following problem:-
Its in limp mode and throwing a code 45 (the pressure exchange solenoid), we have cleaned out his pressure exchange solenoid, boost solenoid and map sensor and also swapped mine over and still no luck, is there anything else we can try before calling an auto electrician?
Cheers.

Did you reset the ecu when you exchanged the parts?

Hi, have just joined here cos am in the market for a scoob and I have a friend with the same problem with his my97 RA, although his pressure solenoid is not completely wired up-electrical plug is plugged in but the hose has just been circulated back round on itself;something to do with what he's had done. Anybody have any ideas, we will try resetting the ecu today.

I'm based in Derby, we reset the ecu after every change. It used to throw a code 45, but the cel light would go out when you pressed the throttle, now its on all the time and fuel cut is happening at 0.5 bar.

Cheers buddy, but he has got a mobile auto electrician to look at it tomorrow morning. I'll post to say what was when it gets sorted.
Cheers.

The vacuum pipe running from the turbo or actuator to the boost control solenoid wasn't the correct pipe and was causing incorrect readings to the pressure exchange solenoid, which in turn was causing the fault code. Now at last sorted!
