Default Check Engine Light???

Hi,

Can anybody help me. I have just picked up a 1995 Subaru WRX from the dealer. When i drove away noticed it had no fuel what so ever!! I could not find a Shell garage and the dealer told me i could put a bit of normal unleaded in it until i find a Shell or BP garage.

I found a BP garage about 5 minutes later and filled the car up with BP ultimate. However, the "Check Engine" light on the dash board came on and now stutters when reving past 4500rpm. Similar to when your car is restricted and you pass the limiter.

Help!!!!!

I had the check engine light come on with me and it puts the vehicle into a "safety mode" where you cannot thrash it; so it restricts the revs and boost. Try this website it heped me solve my problem which was the pressure sensor i just got a new one from the scappie, reset ECU and was on my way again

Hya,

When I got my 1994 wrx I put Bp Ultimate in and it ran like crap, runs much better on V-Power (shell) but it is pricey.

Thanks Mark

Get it back to the dealer and see what they say. Did they give you a warranty? Did you test it first?

Before you make any rash decisions and run back to the dealer, do the reset as explained here and then post back.

Mine also says check engine but that is down to having an aftermarket ecu.
Has yours got the standard ecu or otherwise? Check under the passengerside carpet to have a look

Take a look at this interesting thread, from post #28... BP Ultimate and Scoobies don't appear to like each other much!...
