Default sti y pipe

ive got a 2004 wrx with ppp, im thinking of upgrading to an sti intercooler, can i keep the blue silicone y pipe or will i need adifferent one, cheers,

No its totally different. Did this recently, when you purchase the intercooler make sure you get the metal y-piece and red 90 deg hose with the intercooler thats what you need the blue prodrive y-piece wont fit the STI8 intercooler.

all you need to do is remove the alloy elbow parts that are on the old intercooler and fit them to the new sti8 cooler then the silicone y piece goes on to those. all the y pieces are pretty much the same right through the range, from the crappy plastic one, the silicone ones and then the sti alloy one.

Well you must be right then and I must have imagined the difference when I changed the intercoolers on my 05 WRX

I did the same thing, got a Prodrive y-piece then realised that the STI intercooler come with the dedicated cast piece...

I will try and dig out some pics tomorrow and post them up. I am sure I took some pics of the underside of the STI * intercooler before fitting and still have the WRX one and the prodrive y-piece.
