The PPP consists of some intercooler piping (samco hoses can be used), 2.5 inch stainless exhaust system (a scorpion system I believe) a prodrive backbox (scorpion again) the PPP ecu and a new restrictor plug.
No need to upgrade your fuelpump, just the above items, and dont decat it, it doesnt like it.
I should also say that if your car is out of warranty, its cheaper just to get the ecu remapped and get an exhaust (and the intercooler piping)

You can fit the ecu yourself, but you need to have the other parts fitted to gain the maximum benefits from the performance, as stated above, its cheaper just to get it remapped on ecutek

the ecu itself will plug in and run without immobiliser issue etc as ecu not immobilised.

Remap is better but then I am biased

Tony
I'm glad you clarified at the end as the ECU stays 'insitu' and is mapped by the likes of Bob Rawle 'ecutek software'

Dont even think of a PPP its for people who have new cars and want to maintain warranties - ecutek is miles better

ps - am I missing something - why does the ecu need to be changed?

It really is a no brainer! You have a good exhaust system so a re-map and a set of colder plugs will see you with more power than a PPP and a much nicer car to drive. Having had the PPP on my 03 STi then eventually re-mapped, I wouldn't have the PPP even on a new car. Straight to a decent exhaust, plugs, filter and a re-map by a respected mapper.

PPP for an 99/00 consists of an STi centre section (no-cat, but resonated), Intercooler Silicon Turbo outlet hose, Prodrive embossed rear silencer (made by Scorpion) and STi badged ECU.
The ECU runs peak boost of 1.1bar and the upgrade is rated around 250BHP.

Standard ECU runs 0.95bar
This can be remapped to 1.2bar using ECUTEK (maybe by Jolly Green Monster ) to 1.2bar. Combined with a good exhaust system and K&N/, Green or STi panel filter should see 270-280BHP.

Yes you can fit the PPP ECU, but I wouldn't advise trying to over-ride the ECU boost control i.e by fitting another method of boost control. Due to the way that it's mapped. You would be better doing this to the Ae802 which runs a little richer and hence safer.

still cant understand why you are looking at the ppp for a 99 car, just get an ecutek remap on your existing ecu.

I aggree, but if you're in the process of upping the performance it makes sense to stick in a new set of plugs unless the existing ones are less than 8-10k old, and a set of 7's will be safer if it's going to run around 1.2 bar?

Age of the plugs is a factor and yes if they have done any serious miles i too would replace them if upping the boost, standard grade will be fine at 1.2 bar..... i have standard grade plugs at 1.3 bar with no issues and was advised by jgm and others that this is perfectly safe, going above this with a different set up then yes i would change the plugs to 7's.

Old thread alert!
classic fletch, are you still after a PPP ECU? I'm considering a remap, but would be prefer doing it on a standard ECU. So would want to swap for another 99 car's ECU. PM me if you are interested.

The ppp on the classic runs at 1.2 bar and produces 237bhp and 258lb/ft of torque, although saying that i have the ppp fitted to my RB5 and it produced "260.1 bhp and 245lb/ft of torque that's with a cat back nur spec-r and STi panel filter, would have produced more but had a faulty lambda sensor and a split in the inlet manifold gasket.
