Default INDUCTION KIT OR PANEL - YES ANOTHER NEW THREAD!

Hey up guys,

I know this gets asked a lot, and am well aware that i may not see much improvement in performance, but........

.....i've acquired a K+N induction kit for free (and yes, its in good condition) for my classic MY98, i know it'll look a lot better under the bonnet than the my standard airbox (with green panel filter), and will maybe give me an induction roar/flutter, but will it run poor (ie fluctuating revs etc) or do any damage to the engine (ie make it run lean/rich)......

......if other owners can reply who's got an induction kit and share their thoughts, aswell as those respected tuners who use this forum, i'd very much appreciate it.

Cheers
Carl

Pay the small fee to be a member so you can use the search function.... thousands of postings on this, keep the airbox with a panel filter, less heat soak, runs better...... if going for big power or need to run a front mount intercooler then go for an induction kit

Would only do this if having a re-map at the same time, otherwise i'd steer well clear

I have remap, sports cat down pipe, etc, etc. See sig. And a green panel drop in. All works together perfectly. Advantages are not worth it, unless you want big HP figures, but for what? You going racing? Yes they might make the engine bay look that bit more special, but hell, you have the best and busiest engine bay that a four cylinder car can have already
And lets not forget the MAF.
Only go for a change if your after big power pub talk stuff. For a smart fast going road car. What you have is good enough. IMOP
