Default What's this light mean?

Hi all,
I've just bought a Subaru Legacy GT Twin turbo on a 1994/5 M reg. It was very cheap but I'm only wanting the engine from it for another project.
I've had it up and running (noisey due to no exhaust or cats!) just to check that the engine is ok..
There is a light on the dash and I don't have an owners manual etc to find out what it means...
Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance. It seems a shame to part this car out but a new exhaust etc is over 1K including cats!

Default hard to see?

is it a rectangular box with a line at either side and three wavey lines coming out of the top? if it is its the cat on fire symbol. usually means there is fuel getting into the cat and igniting. if i'm wrong someone will correct me. if you have no exhaust or cats i don't know what that will mean. i seen on ebay recently a CD of scooby manuals £2.00 worth a bash for two quid!

Ahah,
Well as the cats are both missing and I think the muppets at the Breakers yard cut the wire to whatever sensor was there... that'd be about right!

I wonder, if I connect the wires together, would it put out the light?

Easiest solution is to take the clocks out and remove the bulb...

The breakers I bought it from had already removed all the fuel from it when I arrived to pick it up. It wouldn't even try to start so I had them put a gallon back in!

I'll not be using the dash in the project so I'll not worry about the light.

On another note, I have free rein over the exhaust system for this engine in the project so, do I need to run both pipes into one or can I run 2 seperate systems and also as I don't have any cats, I have heard that running without them can cause boost spikes on the primary turbo.. any ideas on how to prevent this?

Cheers.
