APEXI AVCR BOOST CONTROLLER - ANY GOOD?
Hey up guys,
I've got an Apexi AVCR Boost controller and want to know if its worth fitting to a classic my98 with decat and panel filter? I was gonna sell it, but i think i'm wanting more than its really worth (and what i've paid for), even though i bought it 2nd hand and haven't got round to fitting it cos of money and time?
My car boosts at 0.9 - 1.0 bar and i'm sure fuel cuts around the 1.3 bar mark, so is it really worth that extra 0.3 bar?????

Very good piece of kit.
The problem is that you can't realy be raising the boost without fuel/ign checks anyway, so it's really a case of having it mapped at the same time as the ecu.
Main reason I have one is to get higher mid range boost and then taper it off at the top end.
Wayne.

I've got the jist that they're awesome, but like the 2nd post hinted towards, is it worthwile installing it at the moment, or better to wait till funds allow for a standalone ecu cos mines a 98 model and can't be remapped......just that money's tight and can't afford an ecu yet, and can't afford for a boost controller to be sat at home doing nothing.........

They are very good but as I have discovered, the fact that they do not account for intake temps makes boost control a little bit more difficult come the colder weather.
Plus the 3 port solenoids can get gummed up a bit.
Apart from that
