Default This god damn fuel surge/starvation problem

Its common on imprezas, but i get it at 1/4 tank, 10 pounds worth of fuel still left, if i accelerate hard round a roundabout or leaving a roundabaout i get it, stupid.

surely thats not right ?

heres my fuel pump setup, its from an 04 WRX, i had to adapat the original classics bracket to suit, but the fuel gauige pickup bit hasnt changed so it still sits in the fuel tank where it used to on the old pump

would lowering the filter part (extending with a piece of rubber pipe) so it sits further into the tank so would pick up fuel at lower levels, would that do anythin ?

cheers

Yes lowering the pick up or pump would help and also angle towards the rear of the tank.

I have the same problem after fitting a walbro and have often thought of bending the bottom of the bracket a bit and lowering the pump, but how could I secure the pump to the bracket? Would cable ties degrade? would a jubilee clip be o.k.?

Zen do a great Anti Surge kit that will cure this problem for you. Have a word with Paul.

Its not quite perfect for track work but it is a big improvement from std.
