Service Costs?

Service Costs?
Hey all,
Looking at my 60k service (the car has only done 48k but the last was its 50k with Cambelt etc) and have today been quoted £443+ Vat by KT Green Subaru near Otley (Leeds area)
Anyone think thats insane? Or is the going rate?
What should I be paying and where? Its a 2003 WRX and I'm in Yorkshire. I would rather go to a dealer than a specialist at this stage as the car is still quite new!
Cheers
Matt

pricey in my experience, but if you want to stay with a dealer than thats what you pay for. You dont need to use a main dealer to protect your warranty, you just need your book stamping by a VAT registered garage

Warranty is gone
Its purely a people-like-dealer-service sorta feeling...
Even though its a dealer job, I still suspect its high!
If I look at a specialist, what have we got in West Yorkshire?
Cheers

I used to use Kt but found their prices too high. I started using FR Pulleyn's in York as they were a fair bit cheaper. After that i have always Used Scoobyclinic. In fairness, a 2003 is gonna be out of warranty in which case a main dealer is the last place i would go

Looks like they've quoted you the 60k cambelt service.
Since you had that done last time round you should be looking at around £120 for a normal service.
That's what I pay at Cheam Subaru for a standard 6 monthly.

Hi Chaps.
The service I am looking at is exactly as Mocom have listed in their page above.
I spoke to the bloke (who was perfectly well informed) and he went through all the same stuff as listed above, did advise spark plugs are not always changed but otherwise it was exacty the same!

The 60k service is not a normal service, it is the largest service that the car will ever have, officially it should include:
Engine Oil
Gearbox Oil
Diff Oil
Antifreeze
Brake Fluid
Fuel Filter
Oil Filter
Air Filter
Spark Plugs
If you are using Factory recommended products , the costs of the materials alone are around £215.00. The time allowed for the service is 3.3hrs, so If you look at dealer rates being around £85 per hour then you arrive at a figure in the region of £495 inc vat

It's such a shame you and Karl still aren't where you used to be.
I'm having to go up to Walldonway for my 10k service on Tuesday. Be interesting to see how they compare to the way you guys were for service.
Regards,
Nige.

Hi Nige,
Well if your not happy with them, we are still working on the Subaru's.
Karl left us, so rather than bring another Subaru rally tech across from the main wkshops into our cold sheds, we took the opportunity to move into the franchise workshops with them, over the road from where we were.
Regards
