Default Eagle H beam conrods?

Thinking of getting some, seem to be quite cheap, support 600bhp which will be enough for me, anyone got any comments on these?

I'm using them in my own 2.5 with no issue as are many others, however, I have first hand experience of 2 other sets of Eagle rods with little end bearing problems, either honed too big/ovalled/not straight whatever the reason they were very noisy and resulted in a rebuild.

So you feeling lucky?

Well i dont feel that lucky, i guessed they would be cheap for a reason, just wondering if they were just badly made, or just not tough enough for stated 600bhp, i am building an engine at the moment for 400bhp, so was hoping i could use cheaper rods, but i suppose the power is not so much as an issue as, how you drive the car, how regular you service/ oil change, and other unforeseen probs like over rev etc, 170 quid for 4 of these rods from the states is seriously cheap though!

They will **** 400bhp easily.

Get them. They may be cheap, but very good quality for the price.

Yep - Have them checked to see how close they are weight matched and check the reaming on the small end for the gudgeon pin fit - they did have issues in that area.

I have used these in the past but they would not be my choice for 600 bhp. Think about Arrow for 600 bhp or some other well proven rod as saving two or three hundred pounds on rods is a bad decision if you wreck a high power engine.
Each set I have used (Eagle) needed quite a lot of balancing so that leads me to believe they are less of a precision product than Arrow which I use successfully at very high power.

We did - but now have our own brand. Proper steel rods, excellent quality - fitted with ARP L19 bolts which are the best [ strongest ] available.

£450.00 + VAT a set. We fit them in all big power builds but not 2.35, as the stroker ones are not available yet.

Call for a chat if you wish.
