yes it can, but not many places can do it, Scooby Clinic | The UK's Largest Independent Subaru Specialists | 01246 590 807 - Chesterfield S42 6QX is worth a ring, be a trip to the mainland to have it done though

i have a 98 uk turbo and like you can't remap as 97/98 you can't remap or put a chip in or swap for a diffrent ecu only the same year ecu's can be swapped only thing to do like the above says it get a apexi pfc which i've just got for mine or find a prodrive ecu of the same years 97/98 and put that in for a bit more bhp.

yes mate it is the ESL board and software that a lot of us are using and it is 93~96... the 97~98 has not been sorted yet.

Sorry to be a bit blunt mate. But if a well respected mapper is saying it can't be done or the new softwear is not yet sorted. Why carry on saying other wise. I think he knows what he's talking about.

well i've had one of, if not the biggest tuner in the country telling me you can so you take your pick.

its new, aka they have only had it a month, and not widely around.

its a fair point saying a well repsected mapper etc,,, but just because he hasn't got the facility doesn't mean others don't as well.

when i spoke to clinic about 3 weeks ago they told me they now had the equipment/softwre to map the standard ecu on all years. if you wanna argue the point give em a ring and ask, im sure if theres any exceptions to that they will tell you.

You are wrong Tidgy, the 97-8 ECU motherboard does not feature flash memory, so is impossible to remap. The hardware to allow that to happen is in prototype and will be out during the first half of 2008.

Nothing here to suggest SC is wrong, Tidgys assertion that the 97/8 OEM ECU can be remapped without additional hardware is the only incorrect statement and that hasn't come from SC. They will be be able to slap a PFC on it however so they can remap that MY with an aftermarket ECU.
