Millers is good stuff but 10/60, especially at this time of the year, is really too thick. Your '95 is very low mileage and CFS 10/40 would be as high a viscosity as you would need unless for track days, maybe.

A 10w40 is the same thickness when cold as a 10w60.

e.g. Multigrade oils work like this for example with a 10w60

the oil has the same viscocity as a 10 wieght when cold, i.e. thin and slippery but when the oil gets hot, it has the same viscocity as a 60 wieght, thicker for more protection.

The oil is thicker when its cold but it has the same protection as a thinner 10 wieght
The oil is thinner when it hot but has the same protection as a thicker 60 wieght

Its wonderfull stuff

10w60 is a better oil, the only thing you have to watch for is when the oil is hot, even though it has the properties of a 60 wieght, it is very thin which can cause low oil pressure. No oil will protect your engine if you have no oil pressure.

At 40k miles, I wouldn't worry to much about that, 10w60 would be ok but most people swear by Mobil 1.

I use Mobil 0-40w Fully Synthetic in my 02 STi with 40k and had no problems.

Hope that helps.

That's the theory, certainly. Just pop a drop of each into small jars, pop into the fridge (4c-ish) for a day then give each a shake - there's a difference! Very scientific experiment!

The millers is good quality stuff, but SAE60 would not be my choice. No need to go thicker then an SAE50, so I would look at 5w-40/10w-40 or 10w-50.

Synthetic of course.

Cheers

Guy.
