uk 2.5 v usdm 2.5
long story short my engine is shafted,decided to go down the 2.5 route but the mechanic building it only supplies uk spec 2.5 blocks,i can get a us block slightly cheaper is there any difference between the 2?

I believe there is more than one version of the block, so compare the pt.no's.
Also, does it cost "slightly" less after shipping, duty, & VAT ? And if something goes wrong, do you want the hassle of trying to sort it with another country ?

the folk doing the engine can supply the UK short motor for 2k but the US one is 1600 and it is a uk supplier but he says the blocks are US versions,i just wanted to know if they are the same or there are any differences,it will be going in a 99 classic sti

i get paid friday so going to work out some options then after talking to the builder see what we come up with,might give you a call about parts prices as well not in any rush as i have taken the car off the road for winter anyways,cheers
