to the point the big ends went on my 98 turbo 2000 and instead of going down the reconditioning way, i opted to get a low mileage wrx engine. i personally didnt pick up or install the engine, but my m8 who did said that he had to use the original manifold and turbo from my old engine. the manifold due to the location of the coil packs and the turbo due to...this is what i dont understand..the nature of the piping from the exhaust. i havent seen the wrx pipework and dont know, but i was talking to the person who sold me the engine and said it should have dropped in with no mods.

what do i have to do to get the turbo in? is it even worth it...as in bigger power gains.

your help or advice would be appreciated.

If your standard turbo is front entry & the wrx is side entry then this is what your friend is referring to, it is possible to get the wrx turbo converted to front entry with a bit of precision cut & shut, but unless your planning a remap session then dont bother.
