Engine management light
Well - i've had my scoob less than a week and already the engine management light has come on
Overtook a lorry earlier and it seems taking the car to 6.5k rpm was enough to do it. I've had a search for this issue on here and theres loads - but they all seem to relate to people decatting their cars or changing things. Mines completely standard apart from having a PPP fitted. It was also only serviced by Subaru a week ago.....
Any ideas what its likely to be? Will the light go out on its own after a while? (reset itself?) Or do i need to get it checked quick?

the light might go out if it becomes a stored fault. and after about 12 starts of the engine if the light doesnt come back on then most likely the fault codes will be erased. however i would highly recommend you get it into a garage as soon a spossible as you just dont know what the problem could be, and it could cost more the longer you leave it.

Took it up to the local subaru dealer this morning. had two codes stored on it:
p0340 camshaft position sensor
p0335 crankshaft position sensor
Chap in their service desk said it was likely that these sensors could get confused because the cambelt/tensioners etc were changing only last week - apparently it can cause the sensors to become out of phase?
Fault codes cleared and hopefully thats the end of it....
