Default fitting a newer engine to a 93 WRX what is involved?

can anyone help with whats involved?

Have 93 WRX.

Ifchanging the engine rather than go for an old one would like to fit a complete engine from as late model a cars as I can find (ie from a breaker).

Will a newer engine fit the old car, how easy is it to change them?

Things like, will it fit the gearbox, engine mounts, electrics etc.

relatively easy to change them, bit more difficult to get it to run. You are better sticking to the same phase engine per car otherwise you have to start swapping things about which is/can be tricky

thanks for the replies.
with my car being a 93 at what year does the engine differences between models make the change difficult to swap engines? 95? 99? 01?

looking to do this in the next few weeks so any replies appreciated...

cheers

96 is the change over.. just make sure the new engine runs coilpacks and it will swap no issue.. or 97 to 98 will swap fine if you use your inlet manifold..

99 the heads are different and your inlet manifold won't fit..

93's had the manifold with the straight bolt pattern. I'm pretty sure 96 on are offset pattern. Worth checking, to save yourself a headache.
