just wondering if any one has this problem or had it,when my car boost and the dump valve goes off.straight after theres a mooing noise coming from the engine bay,just wondering if anyone no's what it is,thanx

according to the haynes "you and your subaru impreza" book, a mooing noise from the engine is signs of a worn turbo

the noise is coming from the passanger side tho,i'll look at getting it reconed

i got my book from halfords its 20quid, its not like a normal haynes book, its not helpfull at all, but its a good read if you wanna learn about scoobies

Before you get carried away and replace the turbo have a look at the dump valve.My 97 uk wagon mooed constantly and I replaced the black plastic dump valve ,which on this model is under the N/S of the intercooler . The other symptom I got with it was a sudden cut out at full throttle on motorways ,ie in 4/5th gear .Since then it's been perfect
The valve was abou £70;00 at Subaru
