Default Bought My New Turbo

I collected my new Turbo 2000 last night. Its really nice

Couple of issues with it that I wanted to put on here to see if anyone can point me in the right direction with before I take the car to Subaru for a check over.

Firstly when you put your foot down and the turbo kicks in, the car feels 'lumpy' and doesnt pull smoothly. Any ideas why this could be?

Second, when you turn the engine off and keep the key in, the oil light stays on but only faintly. I noticed that when you turn on the ignition and all the lights come on, the oil light doesnt.

Is it advisable to get it serviced as i'm not 100% sure of when the last one was.

Thanks, Tom.

I would get it checked out just for peace of mind It could be as simple as driving into a garage and they saying there is nothing wrong with it and there is no charge So why take a chance.

Are we talking about from cold or when the car is up to temperature? From cold they can all be a bit lumpy when the turbo kicks in. You should try go easy on the right foot until the car is warm too.

Other than that it's possible there is a boost or air leak messing it about.

And someone correct me if I'm wrong but it might be wise to check if you have the right grade plugs and gap settings. Also can be a culprit for lumpy running.

No, I always warm it up. its when its warm. How can I find if there is a leak or anything?

It also tends to idle weirdly too. I was told it could be chipped. Could that be why?

What year is the car?
Some models (99/00 for example) are reknown for having MAF problems.
