Default change of turbo?

i have got a wrxsti import 1993 classic and was wondering if a change of turbo would give me more power or would it benefit the car to have a later turbo on it?
what are the benefits of newer turbos then mine?
i have got a tdo4 i think.
just seen many turbos for sale but im worried about the amount of work it would need to upgrade ne help would be appreicaited.
thanks.
Lee.

You will have a td05 16g (may be different if it's the first sti which is basically a modified wrx but i'm not sure).
There are plenty of thing you can do before thinking of changing your turbo.
Uprated fuel pump would be a good start, decat, better exhaust system (if not modified already).
Brakes could do with a change as they are quite poor, suspension mods can be cheap and effective as well (rear droplinks and maybe an uprated anti roll bar)
PolarPerformance has a few power options for the early imprezas

You shoud have a TD05 16g turbo which is actually quite a good turbo, and can easily cope with upto 350bhp with supporting mods.
