Default Slight hissing noise & Hissing when foot on gas..? 95 wrx

Hi Guys,

I just noticed tonight there is a slight hissign noise near dash?

I know normally this could mean head gasket etc...(but temp is fine etc..?)

Then when i put my foot on the gas, then a slight hissing noise(from drivers side) when boosting, then normal d/v noise comes in?

ANy ideas please, its a 1995 wrx jdm

Thanks

Jon

Chances are you have popped the gasket out from under the topmount...You wouldn't be the first...

You said it was near the dash?????

I know this is a crazy one but I had a strange noise comming from my dash on my 95WRX and it took me bloody ages to find it.....

It was the cup holder!!

Honest!!

It was rattling, I pulled it out about 1/2 cm and it went away!!!

Just hope it is that and not something really expensive!

Another thing is that your K&N can somtimes rattle againt your bonnet lid!! I tried that one before I found the cup holder problem.....

Still love the cup holder problem!!! I was in bits when I found it! All the technology in the world and I was undone by a cup holder!!!

Default intercooler

the gasket is where you bolt intercooler on unfotunatly you'll have to take int off to see if there's any splits etc to take it off there are 3 bolts under the intercooler not the eassiest to get to someone on here was selling the gaskets for £15.00 i got a mint s/hand one for a fiver

Hissing when you put your foot down is most likely an air leak somewhere on the inlet side.

If you have a boost gauge fitted, check the pipe-work to that.

It may be split or loose.
