Oil Cooler Mounting Location

Oil Cooler Mounting Location
I've heard various reports that i'll need an oil cooler with my GT30R fed EJ257.
So when a mate offered me one off his motorbike i decided i'd give it a go.
Its an Earls oil cooler and is plenty big enough for the job. My question is where to mount the thing.
The only place i can see is between the Front mount intercooler and the radiator. ( see pic)
I'm going to be using a sandwich plate between the filter and modine for the take off, braided hoses with screw fittings and heat reflective fibreglass to protect the braided hoses as they will inevitably be near the tubular headers.
Can anyone forsee any problems with this or indeed advise another location?

As Jay say's under the bonnet scoop is a good and effective placement, if you do leave it towards the front place it in front of the front mount or behind the foglight or inner wing area, just ensure it has sufficient ducting to force the air through it.
EJ25's do run hotter than the EJ20's so an oil cooler is a good idea, just ensure it is thermostatically operated to maintain temperature's at an optimum, oil can run too cold as well as too hot.

Fit it verticly between the bottom and top slam pannel, like this on mine, admittedly its on a classic with a ej20, but should be the same, also i've just had a front mount fitted and it sits nice and snugly between the two.
have to admit its one fo the best mods i've ever had done

Too wide? how wide is it?
no mate, since fitting front mount temps have been even more stable than with just the cooler.
mine, as advised, is thermostatic, and comes in at 95 ish and then off at 88, or thats when i can tell its coming in anyway. Since having the front mount fitted the temp hardly even moves, and if anything temps have dropped, now sits under 80 degrees when cruising on the motorway, and max i've seen is 90, although hotest days since having it fitted was about 25 degrees so not over 30 for a real test yet. i can't see it having any worrys with it tbh
