I got a 95 WRX import and I got a Baily Motorsport Venturi Dump Valve about a year ago. Loads of fun, you can scare kids to death with it all day long! Performance is ok as well!

Get an induction kit, you will be able to hear your stock bypass valve going off. I had set mine to vent to air but got tired of the stumbling and the fuel smell (although I loved the backfiring).
It doesn't sound as good or as loud with the induction kit and venting back to the intake but it's loud enough. That might also have to do with the fact that my filter is in the wing which would muffle it slightly.

seen some bailey ones on ebay for around £50 will this just plumb into existing pipework or will i need to buy a fitting kit for around £34?
i dont no much about scoobys this is my first and first car with a turbo so im all exited.
at min ive got hks induction kit, sti exhaust, boost gauge and turbo timer,
had it rolling road was doing 196 bhp now its 255.6
without spending millions what can i do to acheive that bit extra?

The TD05 as found on a 94 WRX will run fine with no dumpvalve at all, fit an aftermarket one if you like the noise.
Dazza, how exactly does an induction kit damage the MAF?

Get it remapped by one of the ESL dealers
Mocom Racing
JGM
Polar Performance
BRDevelopments
This will get the ECU optimised for your current mods.
To achieve the most from your car I would fit a decat, Walbro fuel pump, 550 injectors and a front mounted intercooler, this would see you with a safe and reliable 330bhp/340ftlbs

as soon as someone posts "what you need is....." - some people just go on ebay, find the cheapest solution meeting the search requirement and then fit it, without going into the reasons.
my first concern is "oiled" filters, then the change in chamber tubing size, and finally the problems with undampened air flow and how it affects MAF readings and resultant mixtures etc...
not rocket science i know.
however, better to see posted here would be -
"i would fit an induction kit and be wary of x,y and z.... or post a link to someone like mocom who could explain the pro's / cons and potential problems associated with doing so.
- that was all.

Mate,
I agree the sound of a VTA is great, ive had them on all my turbo cars and ive had 3 different types on my 93wrx...bailey, forge, HKS ssqv
The best one ive found is..................
The standard re-circ it came with!
No drop in MPG, no jolting through gear changes

Nothing wrong with the early mafs, it's the later ones that are ****e. As long as the filter is mounted correctly and not touching the engine it should be fine, Mine has had no issues for over 2 years with the induction kit.

Buy a dual port dump valve, no fuelling issues as it vents to both recirc and vtas. Plenty of misinformed people giving bad advice as usual, including bad advice about MAF sensors.

I asked this question and got told no way can you do this, does it not induce turbo stall with the air going over the compresser fins?? Keep me informed mate as I'm thinking of doing the same.

no dv at all,do you then hook the pipe direct to the intercooler? what is the advantage of doing this,
i've got a turbosmart dv ,fitted for 2 months no problems at all so far,

Removed the dv today and the car is definitely better between gear changes, as it comes back on boost much quicker and the chatter is louder than most dv's but I think it is spooling slightly later.
Will do some more testing before making a decision on keeping it likes this or reverting back to a dv.

I may have a go on Sunday, between gear's boost drop off is not a problem with the RA box. But don't want it spooling later really. Let me know what you think.

Our car's got no dump valve (td05-20g)
The only benefit I've noticed is that on lift off, there's quite a nice chatter making it sound almost like a rally car
One of the down sides is that it runs jerky on part throttle and when you lift off and go straight back on power (e.g. normal town driving between gear changes). Not sure how much of this is down to the FMIC, but anyway. Bob R also advised that having no dump valve can mess up the MAF readings on lift off, causing detonation, so be careful (have it mapped or at least checked over with det-cans if you remove your dump valve IMO).
Not sure if the benefits outweigh the down sides... May still go back to OEM recirculating DV in the future, but the noise would be sorely missed
Also, I don't think removing it should affect spool point, as the dump valve isn't really doing anything when you're on throttle anyway (which is when the turbo would spool up).
