Help with PossumLink
Hi all.
Let me first say sorry for my lack of English. I'll try my best.
I seen that many people runs with possumlink here, and i hope that someone can help me with a minor "problem"
Well my car runs just fine and i'm satisfied with the product, but here's the problem. If the USBLink is connected to the possumlink when i turn the ignition on the fuelpump (walbro) dont make the "buzzing" sound and the engine cant run proper at 800 rpm, resulting engine stops. But as soon as i disconnect the USBLink and turn the ignition back on the fuelpump makes the noticeable sound and the engine runs fine again.
I dont know if this is a bug or if it's something wrong with my link.
Any suggestion?
Ohh, i almost forgot. I drive a -00 Impreza GT (European specs)
Sorry again for my English. I hope that i have formulate my words right

Your English is brilliant.
It is not something I have seen but then I don't use a USBLink.. just the comport version seriallink.
I presume if you start the engine and then plug in it won't work either as the ecu sets up the comms correctly only when connected.
if you connect the usblink but not to the laptop does it still do it?
I presume you can read and write to the ecu with the engine off?

Thanks for fast answer.
I forgot one thing more. I will try to explain it.
Here's the normal procedure with the usblink unplugged.
First klick: the lights turn on -> Second klick: the fuel pump starts -> Third klick: engine starts.
With the usblink connected.
First klick: the lights turn on -> Second klick: the fuel pump starts after 5 seconds -> Third klick: engine starts.
With the usblink and laptop connected.
First klick: the lights turn on -> Second klick: the fuel pump is dead! -> Third klick: engine starts and the fuelpump start buzzing. The engine want runs properly and stops after some second.
I have not try to start the engine first and then usblink, but i dont think that works. I can try it later.
I can read and write to the ECU whitout the engine running.
This is not a big problem, but i have plans to mount a car pc and let the link be plugged in always.
Thanks again for the help.

I have had problems with USB adaptors (not specifically the link one) and seek out older laptops with the comms port still on so as to avoid the problem.. could you use a seriallink?
if you restart does it run correctly?

I have try both turning the engine off and back on, and also reboot the laptop, but non of them works
The laptop i running with is wery old (should i try with a newer laptop?), and yes it has a serial port.
I've notice that some adaptors have both usb and serial ports. My adaptor does only have usb. I dont know if this is something unusual.

I dont know if that is possible, but it might be worth a try. But i have to import the adaptor through LincECU themself.
Any other suggestion? Maybe something wrong with the driver?
I appreciate any help i can get.
